Lakes for Days!

I currently made a bunch of lakes to stay ahead of my orders. I am getting about one order a month and I am very appreciative for all of the support and orders so far, thank you.

I won’t get into the specific details on how the lakes are made but I will share some “behind the scenes,” so to speak.

Raw and just cut material

The tiles that I make are measured with a digital caliper to make sure the size is perfect on an official Battletech mat. Once I got the size correct I designed it in AutoCAD and cut on my laser cutter. Once the tiles are cut out I prime them; top and bottom. The bottom of the tile is also covered with a matte clear because it feels un-finished if not. Then the blue for the water with a trim of mud effects and grass. Once that is done I pour in resin and add gel for the waves.

Blue paint with mud and flocked rim

It takes a few days to complete due to drying time in between each coat of paint and effects that I have to add. I hope that my passion and hard work shows in my work.

What I have so far, the goal.. a Battalion

Battletech has been a game that I enjoy a lot, it has made it easier to get back into wargaming. The model count is lower but the barrier to get started seems quite high especially when you talk about Battletech classic. Testing painting techniques and expressing my skills is fun as well.
