Donating Terrain

Over the weekend I went to my LGS (Local Game Store). I went to play a quick game of Battletech classic but the good homie had some personal stuff come up so we didn’t get to play at the local shop we frequent. The shop I always go to is called Funkatronic Rex and the local shop owner and workers are the best there is. They don’t have the biggest shop but I believe they do everything right.

The first time I visited Funk it was while they started locking the doors and they let me in so that I can buy some Kill Team minis. Something they didn’t have to do and something I would have accepted if it was the case. When I was getting into Battletech I was helped by Alex and picked up the rule book. The owner found out I was a new player and gave me a free mech they had in the case (The Archer), again something they didn’t have to do.

They helped me with the rules of Battletech and now I make terrain for the game and play battletech because of them. I wanted to donate some terrain for the shop because of how I was treated, I wanted to pay it forward and give the local players more terrain to use. I gave them some rough terrain and some lake sets for the tables and I am going to donate some forest tiles as well. Alex wanted to give me something for the donation but I said no, he insisted and gave me one of his mechs. It was the Peacekeeper. I will be painting this and the archer on the next batch of mechs I paint.

Later that day I ended up playing at the homies place, we will just say I took home a win for the team. I survived only because he missed all his last shots before we called it done.
